LIBRARIES TO REOPEN JUNE 1
Services limited at first, expanding as long as communities stay healthy
(WYNNE) Following the lead of local governments, the public libraries of the East Central Arkansas region will re-open with limited, curbside service beginning June 1, then will gradually expand services in two-week phases as long as it is safe for the community to do so.
Curb service will begin June 1st at the Wynne and Augusta libraries. Persons can call those locations with their library card number ahead of time to make requests. After a two-hour period, they can come to the pick-up area, call to let staff know they have arrived, and have their materials delivered to their vehicle. The borrower will need to be prepared to show their library card to receive the materials.
The pick-up location at the Wynne location will be in the driveway through the rear parking lot off Terry and Commercial Streets. At Augusta, the pick-up location will be in front of the library on Mulberry Street.
All library materials currently on loan will be due back at the library on Friday, June 5th. If you had materials on hold/reserve and they are available, you will be contacted by the library and be given three business days to pick up those items, just as before the pandemic.
Beginning June 15th, all other libraries will reopen to the public in phases, with limited seating and safety precautions in place. Some services will be limited at first, then gradually increasing as it is safe to do so. Further details will be announced later in the month after consultation with the Regional Board of Trustees.
We are so looking forward to seeing you!
Rev. John Paul Myrick, MLS, SJDM
