GED/ADULT EDUCATION

Your East Central Arkansas Regional Library is proud to support adult education efforts in our region. We work closely with regional Literacy Councils, the Cross County Adult Education Program, and the Arkansas State University-Newport Adult Education Program to provide space, resources, and other support to ensure that area residents have access to educational opportunities.

CROSS COUNTY:  GED/Adult Education Classes are provided at the Cross County Library-Wynne Branch on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 12pm-3pm. Pre-testing is provided at the library by appointment. For more information on the Cross County Adult Education Program, contact ASU Mid-South at 870-733-6871.

WOODRUFF COUNTY: Arkansas State University-Searcy holds GED/Adult Education classes in Woodruff County at the library in Augusta on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. For more information on Woodruff County programs, call Sherry Organ at 501-207-6291 or email her at slorgan@searcy. asub.edu.

Each county’s Literacy Council provides free tutoring services to Arkansas residents, age 18 and older, with low literacy skills.  Students are tutored one-on-one or in small groups by volunteer tutors who have been trained in proven methods for working with adult low readers and the English as a Second Language program.
